The presence of Chinese car brands in Europe is constantly growing, and it is difficult to give an exact and fixed number, since new brands enter the market regularly.
One of the main attractions is its value for money. Chinese brands usually offer well -equipped vehicles at lower prices than their European competitors.
Many Chinese brands are at the forefront of electric vehicle technology, especially in batteries and infotainment systems.
In particular, the Byd brand has gained notoriety to overcome Tesla in global sales of electric vehicles in the last four -month period of 2023.
But it is also true that its massive arrival for markets such as European and Spanish makes many of these brands still great unknown.
Jato Dynamics has developed a ranking of the best -selling Chinese cars in Europe in 2024. Mg is the clear winner, with the ZS as a best -selling model in the old continent, with 97,901 units. MG has also placed three other models (HS, MG4 and MG3) in the Top5 of the ranking and has added, in total, 243,400 enrollments, a figure that practically quintuplica to that of the following classified, byd, which marketed 50,300 units in Europe in 2024. Byd has positioned three of its models among the top 12, demonstrating that its commitment to the electrification is starting to the electrification is starting Calle in Europe.
After Zeekr (30,500 units) and DR (18,600), highlights the strong irruption of omoda, in fifth position of the table in its year of debut, with 14,300 sales; and the omoda 5 as seventh Chinese model best selling in Europe. Its “sister” brand Jaecoo has also sneaked into the Top 10 (2,500 units) despite having been only the last months of the year in the market. Something similar happens with Xpeng, which has reaped good numbers despite not having been the full year in many European markets.
In the ranking of models, all of the table are electric or have an electric and/or plug -in hybrid version. In addition to the mg domain, other remarkable data are the good sales of the Ex30 Volvo (second absolute of the ranking with 79,023 units and first electric) and EC40, ninth in the table; as well as the good sales distribution among all byd models.
