Zeekr is one of the many brands associated with the Geely Group (China). It is one of the largest automobile structures in the country. They own brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Lyk & Co. Last week we learned that Zeekr will take control of Lynk & Co with the sole purpose of reducing costs. However, Zeekr has its own plans for Europe. The brand, which is already present in the region, will bring new interesting products with which it will try to gain a foothold in the ever-growing continental electrical offering. The Zeekr 7X is called to be one of its most relevant figures.
Officially, the Zeekr 7X was presented last summer, August to be more specific, although it had been offering small glimpses of its more than attractive development for some time. At first glance it looks like just another electric SUV. A model that integrates the brand’s design DNA, named Hidden Energy. It stands out for its front and rear presentation. Areas where lighting systems occupy a leading and striking place. Its size corresponds to that of a Model Y, reaching 4.82 meters in length and a wheelbase of 2.92 meters, with a minimum trunk volume of 616 liters.
Zeekr begins preparation tests for the European market
Zeekr ensures that its car is designed for families and, therefore, provides a high content of technology and systems that will make life on board more comfortable. Inside, not only the perceived quality stands out, but also the presence of a large central panel. operated by the most powerful chip of the moment. According to Chinese sources, the Zeekr 7X is already a success in the country. In just a few days after opening orders, 20,000 reservations have materialized. Because? Its price has a lot to do with it. The cheapest model is offered from 30,360 euros, although in Europe it will not cost less than 50,000 euros already applying taxes and tariffs.
It is still a very competitive price for everything it offers, not only technologically and aesthetically, but also mechanically. The 7X moves thanks to a 100% electric structure with two types of batteries, one LFP battery of 75 kWh and another NCM with 100 kWh capacity. The autonomy ranges between 605 and 780 kilometersrespectively, through the WLTP approval protocol. No less interesting is its charging power. The 80 volt structure allows it to offer 5.5C charging systems, which means recovering 10 to 80% of the battery charge in just 10 minutes. As long as the ideal conditions for it exist.
Already at the time of launch, Zeekr assured that it would be an important model in Europe. We will see it in 2025, but the Chinese have already started preparing. A test unit has been discovered circulating in northern Europe. Engineers have to adapt the car to European driving, including WLTP homologation. At the moment, the brand has not specified in which continental markets it will introduce it. Its presence in favorable electrical countries such as the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Germany, among others, is certain. The presence in Spain is not ruled out, where later we will have their new reasonably priced plug-in hybrids.
