The Spanish embassy in Chile has filed a complaint for the publication of some images through a Chilean local medium, sources from Zarzuela have reported Saturday. The photographs shows Princess Leonor visiting a shopping center in Punta Arenas (Chile). The princess arrived in the town on March 18 aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano school ship, at the third stop in America during her military instruction trip.
Although these are not the first images of the Princess of Asturias during their free time while performing the training cruise, this time they have been obtained in a way contrary to current regulations, both in Chile and in Spain.
The images in which you can see the heiress to the throne entering the mall and walking inside, dressed in shelter clothes, come from the security cameras of the establishment, which means that some of those responsible for the security control facilitated access to the media that has published them.
“This action is an infringement of current regulations on data protection in Chile,” said the sources, which have stressed that “it is an inadmissible behavior” and they have wielded that “everything is not worth it.”
In this sense, “prior coordination with the Embassy of Spain, it has been decided to denounce this administrative infraction” before the police, the sources have specified.
The ‘Juan Sebastián Elcano’ arrived at Punta Arenas this Tuesday in his navigation from the Atlantic to the Pacific, after having already arrived in Salvador de Bahía (Brazil) and in Montevideo (Uruguay), and will then go to the Chilean port of Valparaiso.
During the stops in Puerto, it is common for the guards who travel aboard the school with a free time, in addition to participating in different military and cultural activities that are usually organized on land in honor of their visit.
It has been precisely during that free time when the Princess of Asturias has been photographed in the mall, where as reported by the Chilean press, she visited several stores, including one in which she was interested in how the mate is done.
