The G7 countries remain “deeply concerned” about the risk of nuclear accidents in the Ukrainian power plant of Zaporizhzhia and are asking for free access to the plant by the IAEA inspectors who will visit this week.
That at the Zaporizhzhia plant will be “the most difficult mission of the IAEA”, the International Atomic Energy Agency. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is convinced of this on a visit to Stockholm, where he met the Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and her counterpart Ann Linde. “This mission will be the most difficult in the history of the IAEA, given the combat activities undertaken by the Russian Federation on the ground and also the blatant way in which Russia is trying to legitimize its presence,” Kuleba said.
“Russia must withdraw from Zaporizhzhia, it is the only way to guarantee nuclear safety,” Kuleba added.
