300 is one of Zack Snyder’s films. His 2006 work is considered by many to be his best film. Thus, It shouldn’t be a big surprise to hear that the director will be taking the reins of the prequel series that is already in development.
In a conversation with Comicbook, Snyder revealed that he will take on the role of director in the prequel series of 300something that many had already speculated after the revelation of this production last June. This is what the director had to say about it:
“We’re getting ready to dive in and get to work on it. It’s a lot of fun, I love that world. Even in the preliminary meetings we’ve had, talking about things like, ‘What if this or that happened?’, it’s a lot of fun to think, ‘Wow, that’s a very rich standard. It’s similar to [Twilight of the Gods] in a strange way.”
Although there are not many details available at the moment, The 300 prequel series is expected to focus on the Spartans led by King Leonidas before they went to war with Xerxes. This is not the first time this story has been explored, as it was released in 2014 300: Rise of an Empirewhich not only functioned as a sequel to the 2006 film, but also featured scenes focusing on Leonidas’ past.
For those who don’t remember, 300 It is based on the 1998 comic book series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. The story is set in 480 BC, and presents us with an alternate version of the Battle of Thermopylae. Over the years, this work has gained great recognition, and many knew Zack Snyder for this film.
We can only wait for more information to become available, something that could take some time to happen. In related news, Zack Snyder is willing to continue the DCEU. Similarly, the director assures that Rebel Moon is better than Barbie.
Author’s Note:
300 It’s a very entertaining film. It’s a work that clearly demonstrates Zack Snyder’s talent, which lies in adapting a good story. However, if the director had had creative control of the narrative, it’s likely that the final product would not be remembered so fondly.
