It’s getting harder and harder watch ad-free content on YouTube, unless the user subscribes to YouTube Premium. After the clip limit, set to prevent people from watching only what interests them, now one has arrived news for those who have installed an adblocker: Videos skip directly to the end. It seems that the only option left to users is to watch advertisements if they want to avoid paying for the service, which is the only correct one, apart from the subscription, given that they still use a service, whether they like it or not.
The platform is looking for ways to convince users to stop using adblockers, which of course they harm his business. Messages to try to raise awareness among users and limits on streaming on websites didn’t work, so the hard way came, so to speak.
YouTube’s move
At first, many thought it was a video bug, but it’s actually a new tactic employed by YouTube. So if you have noticed that your videos skip to the end once loaded, you did not encounter a technical problem but the platform’s new dissuasion technique. Trying to play the video by moving the cursor backwards is useless and does not allow you to bypass the limitation. In some cases you will simply get a video that loads endlessly, in others you will go back to the bottom of the video. The new system seems to have been implemented for all the most popular ad blockers and for now it seems that there is no way around it.
In summary, currently there is only one system to eliminate ads from YouTube: subscribe to the premium service. If you want to continue watching the videos without subscribing, you have to watch the ads. We will see in the future how adblocker developers will respond.
