A political event turned into a tragedy when strong winds knocked down the stage during the closing of the campaign of the candidate Lorenia Canavati, of Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) by the mayor of San Pedro Garza García in Nuevo Léon. The terrible accident left nine dead and 121 injured, some of them in serious condition.
The event, which was attended by candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Jorge Álvarez Máynezand was expected presentation of the musical group Bronco, attracted numerous families looking to enjoy music. Alejandro Gámez, stepfather of José Jesús, an 11-year-old boy, lost his life along with his stepson when the stage collapsed on them. María de la Luz Solís, mother of José Jesús and wife of Alejandro, is in serious condition in clinic 7 of the IMSS. The family, who attended the event mainly to enjoy the bronco concertwas devastated by the tragedy.
Alejandra Gámez Escalera, daughter of Alejandroreceived the terrible news of his father’s death through a WhatsApp message. Alejandro died at the University Hospital due to a blow to the head. On social networks, Alejandra and her mother, Marylu, Alejandro’s ex-wife, expressed her pain and sent moving farewell messages.
Beautiful daddy, you don’t know how much sadness you leave me, we had so many plans, so many things that we needed to experience. Today you leave me here with my heart in pieces, Alejandra wrote.
Marylu, for her part, thanked Alejandro for having been part of her life and promised to take care of her children and grandson as they had agreed.
“I know that our lives did not end together as we promised that day at the altar, today you left, you left me in the care of our children, I will take care of them and see to them as we always talked about, that if one day one of us were missing, the other would take care of them, also of our grandson whom you loved with your soul. He flies wherever God takes you, thank you for having been part of my life, thank you for the great gift you left me. God give you peace and eternal rest until forever.

Local authorities and Civil Protection are investigating the causes of stage collapse, which is attributed to the strong winds that occurred during the event.
