In the Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, action has been intensified in the case of 6 people killed by drinking poisonous liquor. In view of this, the state government has taken a big decision on Saturday. According to the information, the state government will attach the property of the accused found guilty in the case of making spurious liquor. In the Banthra area of Lucknow, 6 people lost their lives by drinking spurious liquor while 7 people were admitted to hospital in critical condition.
Taking this matter seriously, the state government has taken this decision. Additional Chief Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhusreddy told that in winter many people make raw liquor in homes irregularly. To prevent such exploits, the Yogi government has formed a team of Excise Department. He said that a special 15-day campaign will be launched in each district to stop the manufacture and sale of illegal and raw liquor in any form in the state.
Officials said that necessary guidelines have been given to all districts in this regard. The police department will also cooperate with the Excise Department for this campaign as required. A directive has been issued by the government to form a joint team of Police and Excise Department through the District Magistrate. These teams will raid suspicious places and destroy illegal businesses. Significantly, this initiative has been taken by the administration after the case of the death of 6 people after drinking spurious liquor in Banthara, Lucknow.
The case is dated November 13, in which Lucknow DM Abhishek Prakash ordered a magisterial inquiry. Simultaneously, two accused were also arrested by registering an FIR. In addition, the shop from where liquor was purchased was sealed. However, the incident had to be paid to Lucknow commissioner Sujit Pandey as well. The state government removed Sujit Pandey from the Commissionerate after a fake liquor scandal. DTS Thakur, ADG, ATS was succeeded as the new commissioner of the capital in place of Pandey.
