Aden (Union)
The head of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, affirmed his and the council’s understanding of all the peaceful protests that took place in Aden this week.
In a series of tweets, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his great pain for the critical conditions Yemenis are experiencing at all levels, since the Houthi militias launched their ongoing war for the eighth year.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council promised to make efforts and take what is possible to alleviate the suffering of civilians according to the capabilities available to the state, and to work to bring urgent exceptional aid from friendly countries to alleviate the stifling crisis in the electricity sector that needs quick interventions away from corruption and bureaucracy.
“All I ask is that I be given a short opportunity to address the matter and overcome the crisis,” Al-Alimi said.
He added, “The Presidential Leadership Council will work to follow up on the government to carry out its duties in a different way than it was in the past, in which the minister is a worker to serve the people.”
