Four civilians, including three children from one family, were killed, Thursday evening, as a Houthi landmine exploded in Al Hudaydah Governorate, western Yemen.
The Yemeni Landmine Observatory said in a tweet on its Twitter page that four civilians, including three children, all from one family, were killed as a result of a mine explosion in the “Markouda” area in the “Al-Hawk” district, south of the city of Hodeidah.
For its part, the United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA), expressed its regret over the occurrence of another landmine explosion that killed 4 civilians, including 3 children of the same family, while collecting fuel wood in Al-Hawk district. She said that this tragic incident highlights once again the dangers that Al Hudaydah residents, especially children, face every day while going about their daily lives.
She added that more than half of the victims, who were reported killed or injured in landmine and explosive accidents in July, were children.
This incident comes a day after a citizen was killed by a “Houthi” mine explosion in Al-Durayhimi district.
