This year, a Yemeni child under the age of five dies every nine minutes from the conflict, the report says.

In the Middle East An estimated 377,000 people have died in the civil war in Yemen by the end of the year. The deaths are related to the direct or indirect effects of either the seven-year war.

A report released by the United Nations Development Program says nearly 60 percent of deaths are related to the indirect effects of war, such as a lack of clean water, hunger and disease.

According to the UN, the majority of those who die from indirect causes are young children, who are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition.
