Yamaha looks to the future of mobility in Europe by unveiling its new range of electric models that will accompany the company into a new sustainable era. The Japanese company has thus officially announced its entry into personal electric mobility, through a series of innovations, including scooters and e-bikes that will be available between 2022 and 2023. “Over the years the concept of mobility has constantly evolved and, consequently, our cities and infrastructures have adapted to these changes – has explained Eric de Seynes, President and CEO of Yamaha Motor Europe – But something has remained unchanged over the decades: the universal desire and the need for personal mobility that offers a real sense of freedom ”.
During the preview of Switch ONthe house of the Three Diapasons has unveiled the main innovations that will be offered to customers, starting with the new one NEO’s, a smart and affordable electric scooter, equivalent to 50cc models. Unveiled for the first time as a prototype at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019, it will soon be joined by a second model with a 125 cc displacement which will instead be based on the E01 prototype. A name has not yet been chosen for this model but it will be the protagonist of a Proof of Concept activity that Yamaha will launch in a large European city with a scooter sharing partner.
At the same time Yamaha prepares to launch three new eBikes in the All Mountain, Gravel and Urban segments. During the summer all the details of the products will be revealed they will be available before the end of 2022 through the Yamaha dealer network, with the aim of completing the organization of European dealerships in 2023. Yamaha then presented the B01, a new hybrid prototype that intelligently combines the S-Pedelec functionality of eBikes with the performance of a moped and the ability to tackle all urban terrains with ease. Currently a concept model created by Yamaha Motor Europe in collaboration with long-term partners Fantic Motor and Motori Minarelli, the B01 will transform into a production vehicle that will further expand Yamaha’s range of electric mobility models. “Yamaha is thrilled to expand its model range for electric mobility, opening a whole new chapter in the company’s history – Seynes concluded – Backed by Yamaha’s world-class engineering capabilities and a professional dealer network, the introduction of these new electrical products and related services will inspire a new generation of customers. “
