The yachts of Russian businessmen Alexei Mordashov and Gennady Timchenko were confiscated in Italy. About it informs La Repubblica.
The yacht “Lady M” of Mordashov, the main shareholder of Severstal, was detained in the port of the city of Imperia. “Lena” co-owner of the companies “Novatek” and “Sibur” Timchenko – in San Remo. The confiscation took place in the presence of the lawyers of their owners.
In addition, it is reported about the confiscation of the villa in Tuscany of the former State Duma deputy Oleg Savchenko.
Earlier, Mordashov reacted to his inclusion in the EU sanctions list. He stated that he did not understand the reasons for the introduction of restrictions, since he was far from politics and had been engaged in the economy all his life in Russia and abroad. “I don’t understand how the sanctions against me will contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine,” the entrepreneur emphasized.
Mordashov added that the situation in Ukraine needs to be resolved as soon as possible, everything necessary must be done to find a way out and help restore normal life.
The EU sanctions list also included the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov and businessmen: Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven.
