In the presence of groups that advocate for the rights of children, relatives of missing people and searching mothers, the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PAN, PRI and PRD, Xóchitl Gálvez, committed to supporting the boys and girls who have been orphaned due to violence in the country.
This Sunday morning, Gálvez Ruiz joined an event at the Plaza del Caballito in Morelia, Michoacánwhere civil associations exhibited dozens of shoes symbolizing the 13,431 children murdered in violent events during the current six-year term.
From this emblematic place, the candidate expressed regret for the lack of attention towards minorshighlighting the absence of vaccines for them and the elimination of day care centers and full-time schools by the federal government.
“I make a commitment here, in front of the searching mothers: we will take care of the boys and girls who have lost their parents due to disappearance or murder. We are talking about thousands of orphaned children, 250 thousand because of Covid, who has spoken about them,” she stated at the event.
Xóchitl Gálvez also emphasized his country project, focusing on the sons and daughters of the murdered women, who are left helpless after the feminicide, without a clear public policy to care for them.
In her speech, she criticized the neglect of shelters for women victims of violence.
“They are not moved that the shelters for families affected by violence have not received a single peso,” said the licensed senator.
“These shelters not only shelter violated women, but also children affected by violence, and many times these women are murdered for not having access to a shelter in time.”
Likewise, he highlighted the danger of violence becoming normalized in Mexico, urging people not to get used to boys and girls being murdered in the country.
Xóchitl Gálvez emphasized the importance of not being indifferent to pain and turning that suffering into a call for justice, working for a Mexico free of fear and violence.
