On Xbox Series X | S PC games can now be played through Nvidia GeForce Now, as the system is now supported by Microsoft Edge, the new version of the internet browser that can also be used directly within the consoles.
Just a few days ago the incoming support for GeForce Now on Microsoft Edge was announced and apparently this has already been activated, according to reports from The Verge which has also published some sort of video where Tom Warren explains how the platform works through Xbox Series X | S.
In practice, it is a question of starting the service through Edge, which in the new Chromium version also opens up to these modes of use, as we have seen previously also with Google Stadia. In this case too, it is a question of cloud gaming by streaming games from Nvidia servers.
Of particular interest is the fact that the use of mouse and keyboard, but the system is still a bit awkward to use and will probably need some further optimizations: as Tom Warren points out in the video, the virtual keyboard tends to appear as soon as you start an input with the control system, moreover there is still a significant latency that creates problems in the gaming experience.
However, it is a start that still demonstrates how Xbox Series X | S can open up to different types of use thanks to some particular implementations such as the various cloud gaming solutions currently available and supported by consoles.
