A roundup of news on Xbox Series X / S titles.
Jez Corden, editor-in-chief of Windows Central, last week had access to an exclusive preview of Avowed, one of the long-awaited new projects of Obsidian Entertainment. Through his podcast, Corden talked about the future of Obsidian and beyond, sharing a roundup of details on the games in development at Xbox Game Studios.
Talking about Avowed, Corden said 120 people are currently working on it, while another 120 are developing Outer Worlds 2. Obsidian specifically wants to try to make one game a year for the next 7 years. Corden also claims to have taken a look at the very initial gameplay of Outer Worlds 2. They also spent a few words on State of Decay 3 with the new chapter that should be more centered on storytelling.
Not only that, but the editor-in-chief of Windows Central also stated that he has heard amazing things about Hellblade 2, with a larger game world than the first. Also, apparently by the end of the year we will be able to get a first look at the game. But the details don’t stop there: Project Dragon, the working title of the new IO Interactive game has been confirmed as there are also active job advertisements on the studio’s website.
Finally, Corden also talks about two unannounced projects that would be codenamed Shaolin And Belfry. As for Project Shaolin, there is no information other than that it is a new Xbox game. Fans have begun to speculate on a possible remake of Jade Empire, but it wouldn’t make much sense since the license is from EA. On Project Belfry there are some clues that claim it is a horror with gothic hues. Corden also talks about a cloud MMO that Xbox and Mainframe are working on.
This is a general summary of the titles that were touched on during the podcast, but as always it is good to take this news as a simple rumor. Fans need to rely on Xbox, so we look forward to any news and updates on these developing titles.
