It’s been almost three years since the release of Halo Infinite. Although this installment initially had a positive reception, over time public perception has changed quite a bit. Now, and completely unexpectedly, 343 Industries has revealed the next chapter for the iconic Xbox saga.
Through their official YouTube account, 343 Industries has confirmed that they will use the Unreal Engine 5 for the next Halo, and for this engine transition to be effective, they have revealed Project Foundry, a project focused on the research necessary for the studio to perfectly understand the Epic Games software toolsin order to create the game that everyone expects. This is its description:
“With several Unreal-based projects in development, we are entering the next chapter of the franchise and changing the recipe of how we make Halo games.
Join Halo Studios team members and go behind the scenes with ‘Project Foundry,’ a multidisciplinary research project designed to explore the creative potential of Unreal for the next generation of Halo games.”
Now, it’s important to make it clear that Project Foundry is not the next Halo game, but a project that will help developers research everything necessary to create the next game in the series. This means that Halo 7or whatever this title will be known as, is still several years away.
In this way, Project Foundry can be considered a factory which is creating all the elements that we will see in the future of the series.but assembly is still far away. This small advance will be more than enough for some people, who have questioned what 343 Industries has been working on for a few years now. On related topics, former studio employee blames Microsoft for Infinite’s poor quality. Likewise, the company is already working on the 25th anniversary of the series.
Author’s Note:
The problem of Halo Infinite It was not the visuals or the physics, but rather the game design was not up to par with what was expected, and that is something that the change to Unreal Engine 5 cannot solve. However, it’s good to see that the studio is excited for its next chapter.
