During this evening's talk on the future of Xbox, Phil Spencer talked about four first party games that will become multiplatform, meaning that they will probably be released on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The head of Microsoft Gaming did not name names, but the list of titles is already in circulation: Obsidian Entertainment's Pentiment and Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush! by Tango Gameworks, Sea of Thieves by RARE.
Journalist Tom Warren on The Verge He's pretty much taking the four for granted, according to some of his inside sources familiar with Microsoft's business. Naturally there is no official confirmation, but the quartet corresponds exactly to the profile indicated by Spencer.
In fact, according to the head of Xbox, two of the four games are oriented towards the community, and could easily be Sea of Thieves and Grounded, while the other two are smaller, a definition that fits perfectly for the excellent Hi-Fi Rush! and Repentance.
The four games have also been rumored in recent days as coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Of course it is right to wait for official confirmation, which we imagine will not be long in arriving at this point.
During the evening Phil Spencer clearly outlined the future of Xboxtalking about the ever-increasing openness to a multiplatform approach, the decreasing importance of exclusives and how business now requires similar moves to grow the sector.
