After a two-week break, the WorldSBK paddock moves to England, on the historic Donington Park circuit, for Prosecco DOC UK, the fourth stop of the 2021 World Superbike Championship season. It will be a very special “Home GP” for Scott Redding who returns to the circuit where in 2008 he achieved his first success in 125cc becoming the youngest rider ever – 15 years and 170 days – to climb the top step of the podium in a world championship race (until 2018 when Oncu has achieved a success in Moto3 at 15 years and 116 days). But Donington Park gave Redding other great satisfactions, such as the 2019 double that launched him definitively towards the victory of the British Superbike title. The English rider has just returned from a not exciting weekend at Misano and will be on the track determined to reduce the gap (45 points) from the top of the world rankings. Michael Ruben Rinaldi comes from the extraordinary exploit of Misano in which he won two wins (Race-1 and SuperPole Race) and a second place (Race-2). The Italian driver’s goal is to confirm himself at the highest levels even on a track that was less favorable in the past such as Donington Park.
Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati # 45): “We go back to racing in England after a year of absence and for me it is a very pleasant feeling, even for the great memories I have of the 2019 season where I won the BSB championship title. We come from a difficult weekend like the one in Misano and in Donington my goal is to return to win. For me it will be my home Grand Prix and I am very happy that I will find so many fans to support me“.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati # 21): “Donington is a circuit where I have not been particularly comfortable in the past. But now the situation is very different. We will certainly need to find speed to be competitive. We will work hard both Thursday and Friday in free practice to get to Race-1 in the best conditions. Of course, it’s not like racing at Misano but I’m confident that we can have a positive weekend“.
