Plans to design and build a new version of the famous Italian car coincide with confirmation that the French team will be back in action after stopping in 2021 to focus on developing the new Delta Evo-e. The team owned by Guerlain Chicherit has always been present in the championship since 2017.
Recall that the Delta Integrale has become one of the most famous and successful cars in the World Rally Championship, winning eight titles between 1988 and 1992 (5 Constructors and 3 drivers) thanks to Juha Kankkunen and Miki Biasion.
Next year the WRX will have new regulations, with all cars racing in electric mode thanks to a four-wheel drive and dual-engine RX1e propulsion kit, developed by Austrian firm Kreisel Electric. This will be 500kW (680CV).
“I am very excited that GCK is returning to the FIA World Rallycross Championship with its new electric car,” said Chicherit.
“The race format lends itself perfectly to offering one of the most exciting electric car sports shows so far. We chose the Lancia Delta Integrale because it made everyone dream”.
“It is the ultimate rally car, arguably the most incredible of its era, and the one that remains hugely popular to this day.”

“It will be a busy year for GCK Motorsport, and the whole team is looking forward to this challenge. Motorsport is undergoing a significant change right now, with the impact being felt across all companies.
“Playing our part in developing some of these changes is what keeps us motivated every day.”
Championship Executive Director, Anne Dirks, added: “Guerlain understands the way the world is spinning and that moving forward requires adapting; her forward-thinking approach is complemented by a true retro passion – as evidenced. from the choice of GCK for 2022, which is a real master stroke “.
“Having grown up admiring the epic Lancia Delta Integrale conquering rallies around the world, I personally look forward to seeing the Delta Evo-e in action in World Rallycross next season.”
