Finland Arvi Savolainen lost the bronze medal match in the 97-kilogram series of the Greco-Roman wrestling European Championships on Wednesday. Bulgarian Kirill Milov won the bronze medal clearly with a score of 8–0.
Savolainen was at the bottom of the match right from the start, and Milov already took a 2–0 lead in the opening period.
In the second period, 0–3 down, the corner of Savolainen's eye opened, and a bandage was pulled around his head to stop the bleeding. Just seconds after the patch ended, Savolainen already swore decisively for a 0-5 loss.
The Finn eventually finished fifth in the tournament.
