The Nepalese military announced that the wreckage of the missing plane was found on the slopes of the Nepalese Himalayas today
Monday, a day after it went missing, with 22 people on board.
Nepal Army spokesman Narayan Salwal wrote on Twitter that the plane was found in Sanusauer in the Mustang district in the Himalayas northwest of the capital Kathmandu.
“Search and rescue forces have located the crash site, saying that details will be revealed later,” he tweeted.
The fate of 22 people on board is still unknown.
The Tara Airlines plane was on a flight to an airport located in a mountainous area of Jomsom from Pokhara, a popular tourist destination about 200 km west of Kathmandu, with a crew of 3 and 19 passengers on board when it lost contact with the air traffic center in Kathmandu. Around 9:55 am (0410 GMT) on Sunday, Nepal Police spokesman Bishnu Kumar said.
On board the missing plane were four Indians, two Germans and 16 Nepalese.
