The Rally Italia Sardinia looks to the future. The route for the 2024 edition of the only Italian stage of the WRC was presented today and this will present a very important innovation.
The 2024 route of the Rally Italia Sardegna will already follow the guidelines dictated by the FIA regarding the routes of the 2025 WRC rally events, i.e. with a program condensed into 3 days (no longer 4).
The 21st edition of the Rally Italia Sardegna will be held in Alghero, in continuity with the alternation decided some time ago and which saw Olbia as the venue for the 2023 event. The Assistance Park will once again be located on the seafront of the town in the north of the island , with the press room and rally headquarters which will still be located in Lo Quarter, which is located a few steps from the Service Park.
Four months after the start, with the publication of the Rally Guide 1 as the first official document of the RIS 2024, the route that will host the rally organized by the Automobile Club of Italy in partnership with the Sardinia Region has been revealed.
A path that has seen the choice of the last seven editions to host the entire race in the north of the island confirmed. The round, sixth round of the World Rally Championship, also valid for the WRC2, WRC3 and Junior world championships, is scheduled from 30 May to 2 June. There will be 16 special tests scheduled, divided into three stages for a total of 266.48 timed km, all on dirt roads with a compact and intense development.
