In WRC2 he commands Camilli’s C3 Rally 2. Brand colleague Ostberg attempts recovery
The second day of action on the roads of Catalonia was also the prerogative of Thierry Neuville. The Hyundai rider actually dominated the morning by taking home all the special stages, while in the afternoon he made his PS 11, tied with Sébastien Ogier, and the PS 13, easily maintaining the top of the standings.
The only one capable of undermining him, precisely, was the very champion of Toyota, author of the scratch on PS 12, but disappointed with a feeling with the car that arrived only after several modifications.
A sandwich between them Elfyn Evans, frustrated by the sensations felt at the wheel of his Yaris. Fourth at 39 ”9 and still confident of conquering the podium Dani Sordo on Hyundai, then, at 1’12” Kalle Rovanperä on Toyota. The talented Finn was not free from burrs, also remedying a puncture at the beginning of the stage.
Sixth at 3’45 Gus Greensmith, struggling with his Ford Fiesta between flat tires and trouble with the cooling system sensors. Behind him the i20 of Oliver Solberg, slowed down by a clutch failure, followed by the sister car of Nil Solans.
Ninth la Citroen C3 Rally 2 of Eric Camilli and Maxime Vilmot, impregnable in the WRC2 category in front of Nikolay Gryazin’s Skoda Fabia Rally 2 EVO. After the difficulties on Friday the other Double Chevron crew formed by Mads Ostberg and Torstein Eriksen he recovered from 23rd to 17th place overall and is now fourth in class.
In WRC3, Emil Lindholm still dictates the pace on Skoda Fabia Rally 2 EVO, eleventh overall.
