A few weeks before the second round of the World Rally Championship in Sweden, the team M-Sport officially added a fourth driver to his line-up, waiting to understand what Sebastien Loeb’s stay will be in this championship: starting from the Rally of Croatia, another Frenchman will join the team’s line-up as Pierre-Louis Loubetwhich will participate in seven total tests of the season behind the wheel of the Ford Puma. The transalpine, born in 1998 and WRC2 world champion in 2019, will therefore have the opportunity to redeem himself from a recent experience in the top flight so far lacking in satisfactions, as evidenced by the last two seasons spent with Hyundai.
Yet, the potential of the 24-year-old – son of another rally driver like Yves – had always been noticed since his first experiences in the minor categories, with the promotion to the English team that could therefore do justice to a talent that never fully exploded.: “It’s great to be part of this team this year – declared Loubet as a new M-Sport driver – which, by the way, has already proved its worth in Monte Carlo with a Puma that really looks like a beast. As a driver, you always want the best car because it’s the ideal way to show your potential. It was what I wanted for 2022, and I believe that it will be a crucial season for meexactly like for M-Sport. I have all the conditions to be able to do well. It is a dream that comes true more and more, especially now that I am approaching my second full year in the WRC ”.

Loubet will thus join the other team drivers: Craig Breen, Gus Greensmith and Adrien Fourmaux. At the moment, certain holdings of the French will materialize in Croatia, Portugal, Sardinia, Estonia, Greece and Spainwhile it is still to establish the seventh and last presence: “Loubet has amazed us for several years already – added Malcolm Wilson, founder of M-Sport – and we are very curious to see him at the wheel of the Ford Puma. Our DNA has always been to promote young talents for WRC programs, and this is confirmed by our choice of Pierre. We have been keeping an eye on him since 2019, the year in which he won WRC2, and I am sure that Pierre will take the opportunity to do well in his scheduled tests ”.
