The Government of Guadalajara, through the Directorate of Animal Protection, held the Lomitos 2021 Festival, on the occasion of World Dog Day, celebrated on July 21.
The head of the agency, Juan Antonio Barragán Sánchez, explained that among the different services offered, the workshop My pet and I was taught, through which girls and boys are trained on the responsibility of having pets and their basic training.
“The idea is that this type of festivals be permanent, since we are aware and we know that socializing is the best way to teach children the concept of responsible pet ownership and with this we avoid dogs in the street,” he said. Barragán Sánchez, who also called on families from Guadalajara to opt for the adoption of pets.
During the Festival, 40 sterilizations were carried out, 33 rabies vaccines were applieds, also concluded the training of 25 girls and boys during the last four Sundays, through the workshop My pet and I.
