Next year’s World Championships in Athletics will be held in Budapest over nine days, one day less than the past five editions, and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) published today, Friday, the schedule of the tournament, which will take place from 19 to August next year, where at least four will be held. One-day finals, and the morning competitions will be held on the field over five days only.
The program will make the sessions more intense and exciting, and the morning finals will only be followed by the race walks and marathons on the streets of the Hungarian capital.
IAAF President Sebastian Coe said: “I am confident that returning to the nine-day program and holding the finals in the evening at the stadium will be well received by the athletes and fans in Budapest, including those who will watch the competitions around the world.”
