The World Athletics Association, World Athletics (WA), has been the first Olympic World Sports Association in the recent history to have decided. The biological affiliation of an athlete is to be determined. Association President Sebastian Coe described the WA Council’s decision as a “really important step towards protecting women”. The topic of the difference in gender development (DSD) was recently brought back into focus.
