Working life Survey of Finnish Entrepreneurs: It is now easier to find skilled employees than before

There is still a shortage of skilled workers, although the situation has eased somewhat. According to the survey, 35% of companies still have difficulty finding a skilled workforce.

Shortage of manpower has made it a little easier, according to a survey commissioned by Finnish Entrepreneurs.

However, a turnaround does not mean that a skilled workforce is easy to find. According to the survey, 35% of companies still have difficulty finding skilled workers.

Last November, clearly more companies had challenges with the issue. At the time, 44 percent of companies reported recruitment challenges.

“I think the change is due to the improved employment situation and the fact that the need for new labor may be declining due to the economic downturn. Many companies have already found the labor they need, ”says the CEO of Suomen Yrittäjit Mikael Pentikäinen in the bulletin.

Quarter companies say the lack of a skilled workforce is hampering the company’s growth.

According to Pentikäinen, companies use various means to alleviate their labor shortages. Among other things, they provide internships, increase cooperation between educational institutions, use temporary staff, raise salaries, invest in their brand and develop management and performance bonus schemes.

The survey was answered by more than a thousand SME representatives and was conducted from 24 May to 2 June.
