Construction company VolkerWessels has already completed the construction of the circuit for a while, but is still fully preparing for the GP of the Netherlands. The company is looking for volunteers who want to show up as Technical Pitlane Assistant during the Grand Prix. As a volunteer, you’ll have to ‘maneuver the race cars safely towards the scales in the FIA pit boxes and assist with other pitlane operations’. You will not receive any money for this, but you will receive an official KNAF license to work as a pit assistant.
Sounds like a nice game of free labor for VolkerWessels, but it is a unique opportunity to walk in the pit lane during an F1 weekend, and you don’t get that chance quickly. It’s an unpaid job for the entire F1 weekend, so on September 3, 4 and 5, 2021. Maybe they’ll have snacks. ‘After a long day of standing and physical exertion, you close together with your team members and you can participate in all the festivities surrounding the DGP or of course go to bed’, the vacancy reports.
Technical knowledge is not necessary, but you must have an affinity with motorsport. Quite wiedes, otherwise you won’t be doing unpaid work for the weekend. Speaking a good word of English and Dutch is a plus. You can apply on the website of Team VolkerWessels. You can apply until July 16 and on July 31 you must – if you are invited – come to a selection day at Circuit Zandvoort.
