Majadahonda will host one of the largest barracks in the Civil Guard in the region (after the Command, located in Tres Cantos), which, in addition, is expected to be the most modern. Work is scheduled to begin this month on a huge plot of land donated by the town council, led by the popular Lola Moreno. This fulfills an old demand not only of the Majariegos, but also of the two hundred agents who provide service.
Majadahonda is not just another barracks, it cannot even be considered a regular main post; It is the headquarters of the Sixth Company of the Armed Institute in the Community (there are six territorial ones), which encompasses the posts in the northwest area of the region, the most populated in its demarcation. The idea of a new infrastructure has been around for a long time, although until now, nearly twenty years later, it has not begun to materialize.
ABC has had access to the contract and the bidding document for this first phase, whose works are scheduled to begin imminently, this January. If the deadlines of 17 months for carrying out the actions are met, it will be in the summer or autumn of next year when this building will be available.
The plot given by the council is located on Avenida de la Oliva and Avenida de Joaquín Turina, next to the Puerta de Hierro hospital in the town. The current one is on a commercial plot with a gas station, several restaurants, a supermarket, a pharmacy… A location that was going to be temporary, but this move has been pending for years. The current situation is “quite regrettable”, in the words of agents who work there, because, in addition to the poor state of the facilities, the lower area, that of the post, shares a building with two Courts of First Instance and Instruction, numbers 6 and 7. The complex is owned by Afar 4, one of the most important developers in this town, which has, for example, part of the Gran Plaza 2 shopping center.
The new building will be on a plot of almost 10,000 square meters and the State Security Infrastructure and Equipment Management, dependent on the Ministry of the Interior, will be in charge of carrying out the construction. The cost of this phase 1 exceeds 8 million euros, with VAT included.
The mayor of Majadahonda, in statements to ABC, highlighted “her Government’s drive to make the new barracks a reality as soon as possible”: “It is excellent news for Majadahonda that 2025 begins with the start of these works that are so necessary for the Civil Guard facilities in our town,” said Lola Moreno, who is also a police inspector by profession.

The complex will be made up of three buildings, with as many floors above ground and one more underground. In one of the pavilions, above the basement, there will be the offices, with three floors of about 600 square meters each, according to the bidding document. The next block will have the same dimensions, while the third will double them, with 1,800 meters for each height. As for the basement, measuring 6,900 meters, it will occupy a large part of the plot, “except for setbacks to the boundaries or facades,” the project explains.
The renewal of barracks infrastructure is a constant demand by the professional associations of the Civil Guard. Demands that are not always heard but that, in this case, thanks to the impulse of the current mayor and the second deputy mayor and delegate councilor for Urban Development, Environment, Housing and Urbanizations, Raúl Terrón Fernández, are going to become a reality .
