The women’s Copa América kicked off this Friday in Colombia, with the victory of the national team 4.2 against Paraguay and the rout of Ecuador 6-1 against Bolivia, in group A.

The Colombian National Team made a symbolic protest on Friday, with their arms raised during the anthems, demanding equity in the internal prizes agreed with the Colombian Football Federation.

How much do the champions earn?

Conmebol grants an economic prize for the selection that occupies the first place and the runner-up, as indicated by the president of the entity, Alejandro Domínguez.

The leader announced before the start of the tournament that the winner of the 2022 Copa América would receive a prize of 1,500,000 dollars, while the runner-up would be financially recognized with 500 thousand dollars.

It should be remembered that the finalist teams will obtain a quota to the World Cup in New Zealand-Australia 2023 and to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

In any case, the gap with respect to men’s football remains, taking into account that Argentina, champion of the 2021 Copa América, received 10 million dollars as a prize for the title it won in Brazil.
