Woman hit while crossing the road, hit-and-run driver caught: the driver's first words

Elderly lady is hit and killed by the driver of a van: he didn't notice anything.

Yet another tragedy hits Italian roads. A woman, Iolanda Tosetti, died on April 19th due to an impact with a van near Inverigo in Como. From what we know, the driver of the van didn't notice anything.

Let's try to clarify this ugly story.

It is April 19, 2024 when an 82-year-old woman, Iolanda Tosetti, she decides to cross the street without knowing what fate has in store for her. The elderly lady was on the pedestrian crossing when a van he literally ran over her.

From the first moment his condition appeared serious, which is why some passers-by immediately contacted the 118. The woman was not the only victim of the van as she fell and hit a cycle tourist passing by who fortunately suffered minor injuries.

THE rescued they rushed to the scene of the accident and urgently transported the lady to the Erba hospital, but unfortunately she passed away during the transport. The police are therefore examining the videos of the surveillance cameras of the place in order to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.

The driver of the van claims not to have noticed anything

Driving the van a vehicle Fiat Ducato a 74 year old resident of Lambrugo. He was identified by the police and was immediately questioned about what happened. His identity was identified thanks to plate of the vehicle and the man was reported by the authorities.

The man, however, apparently declared that he had not noticed anything even if this seems very strange given that those present began to talk scream as soon as they witnessed the scene. The investigations continue also because the van does not show any signs of theimpact and no traces attributable to the clash.

In the meantime it is ongoing the autopsy examination on Tosetti's body, which was authorized by the Como Prosecutor's Office. Some will be provided in the next few hours updates in order to reconstruct what happened on that sad April morning.
