Veteran British tennis star Andy Murray, winner of three major titles, said he is considering competing in the men’s doubles competition at Wimbledon next month alongside his brother Jamie.
Murray (37 years old) won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon twice, while his brother Jimmy won the mixed doubles title in the same tournament twice.
The Murray brothers also played together at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics in 2016, and were a powerful duo when Britain won the men’s Davis Cup title in 2015.
Murray told reporters after he and his partner Daniel Evans were defeated by Thiago Sibot Wild and Sebastian Baez 6-7, 6-7 in the first round of the French Open: “Maybe I will participate in the doubles at Wimbledon.” Yes. “This is not 100 percent confirmed yet.”
Murray added: “Currently my brother does not have a partner at Wimbledon. We talked a little about that. “So maybe this will happen, but it’s not 100 percent confirmed yet, and we will decide at the right time. I mean, Jimmy might find a partner as well. We’ll see what happens. Maybe we’ll make a decision within the next few days.”
