During a recent episode of Jeff Grubb’s show on Giant Bomb, the writer and game author claims the Xbox Live Gold service will be canceled, also speaking of changes in the release dates of the next games of the Microsoft console. According to Grubb himself, the closure of the service is only a matter of time and number of users.
A couple of months ago Microsoft announced a major change, that is, a subscription subscription for free-to-play games is no longer required, making them completely free. According to the well-known insider, however, the changes do not end there, with the possibility of saying goodbye to the service.
According to information provided by Grubb himself, Microsoft is just waiting for more Xbox Game Pass users, in order to be able to completely close the service. Given the amount of new titles, here you can find the updated list of July, and the introduction of the xCloud service, this hypothesis may not be excluded.
In addition to this information, Grubb also talks about the upcoming games coming out, assuming a time window. We remind you that these news are rumors and should be taken as such, having not been officially confirmed or denied by Microsoft itself.

The most important titles coming out on Xbox for the year 2022 are as follows:
- Forza Motorsport
We have written about the latter title in the past, especially as far as it is concerned the capability of the new graphics engine. This title was presented at E3 2021, during the Microsoft Bethesda conference.
Here it is instead the list of games planned for 2023:
- Perfect Dark

Regarding this latest group of games, it is underlined how they could be delayed, thus coming out in 2024. Some of these titles have only been announced, without even an official confirmation of the time window.
We just have to wait for official communications from Microsft about the future of the Xbox Live Gold service, to understand if it will be completely canceled or not.
