Will the Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series have a second season? We have no confirmation, but Ewan McGregor gives an update on the situation and says what Disney thinks.
There will never be one season 2 of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus? We have no official confirmation on this, but fans are starting to hope after the lead actor – Ewan McGregor – suggested that Disney and Lucasfilm are currently “exploring” some ideas.
The information comes from an interview conducted on stage at Los Angeles Comic Conthen shared online by the YouTube account Nico7 Films.
McGregor’s comments on Obi-Wan Kenobi
During the interview, McGregor stated that the only Star Wars project he would like to work on is the second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. McGregor began by saying “we absolutely hope” to make more episodes of the series, before correcting himself to say “‘we’re exploring’ is the right word.”
Let’s immediately point out that this it should not be taken as confirmation of the arrival of a second season, but it is certainly a more positive update than the comments made by McGregor in February, when he said that Disney was not talking about another Obi-Wan Kenobi.
With regard to what it might include a potential second season, McGregor has said he would like to shoot flashback scenes with Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen and even don the armor worn by Obi-Wan in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Regardless, McGregor seems certain that there is still a lot to tell regarding Obi-Wan Kenomi. “Obviously between the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and when Alec Guinness [ndr, l’attore della trilogia originale] becomes Obi-Wan Kenobi, something else must have happened,” he said.
We also know that the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series is one of George Lucas’ favorite products.
