Nasri, the retired French player who partnered with Aguero in Manchester City and still maintains a friendship with him, said that he had received a message from the Argentine star.
According to Nasri’s statements to the French channel “Canal Plus”, Aguero, 33, told him that he would retire permanently.
Nasri explained, “He sent me a message, and unfortunately, he confirmed the reports (that talked about ending his career). For this reason, I am very sad.”
He continued, “He is a player that the whole world knows is a phenomenon. He is a great person. It saddens me because it is not his choice, it is his forced retirement. I know he loves this game, and seeing him end his career in this way hurts me.”
Nasri added that he, in turn, responded to Aguero’s message, expressing his support and love for his former friend and colleague, “because he is a person whom I greatly appreciate.”
Aguero was ruled out for 3 months, after suffering chest pain during a match with Barcelona earlier this November, while he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
The striker was taken from the stadium to the hospital in an ambulance, where he underwent extensive tests.
