The first comments on Five Nights At Freddy’s 2
“It will be scarier“Hutcherson told Esquire in a new interview. “It’s much bigger; the stakes are higher… There will be more animatronics, different animatronics, and the world will open up in a very big way.”
Reportedly, the film will be based on the video game Five Nights At Freddy’s 2which introduced the Puppet and Balloon Boy animatronics along with the already introduced Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. Hutcherson didn’t reveal any plot details, but said the film will expand the narrative world.
“We are finding the right balance between the construction of this world and its expansion in a really cool way, but also making sure that the characters stay grounded,” Hutcherson said. “It’s something that I think we all struggled with in the first movie, because the world created in Five Nights at Freddy’s is so outside the box . It’s so exaggerated and outlandish, in a way, that finding the emotional truth of the characters would have been what would have worked.”
For now, Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard are the only cast members from the first film who have confirmed their return for the sequel. Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 will hit theaters in December 2025.
