According to a recent podcast by journalist and insider Jeff Grubb, Wild, the PS4 exclusive has been canceled, after being presented for the first time in 2014. The work was written and directed by Michel Ancel, a video game designer famous for Rayman And Beyond Good & Evil.
The news was reported by the site VGC, where some sentences of Grubb himself are quoted, who is sure that the studio that was working on the project has totally abandoned development, focusing on other jobs. Game designer Michel Ancel retired from the gaming industry in 2020, a decision that didn’t seem to affect the development of many projects.
The title itself had also undergone some changes before Ancel’s departure, making all his fans hope for a possible return, although there has been no official news for many years. Grubb’s words, on the other hand, seem to leave no doubt:
I can confirm that the game is over. There is no Wild anymore… Wild is dead.
According to the reporter’s other statements, the team working on the title remained compact and is looking to work together on a new project, given the high quality of staff present. The game featured a procedurally generated prehistoric world, in which we played the role of a shaman who could control animals, to be able to fight against other tribes or solve puzzles.
PlayStation’s long-missing exclusive Wild has finally been shut down, it’s claimed.https://t.co/VAfIJm5Vfy

The opera had originally been presented during the PlayStation showcase at Gamescom 2014, with a very short video that introduced the world and its mechanics. From that moment very little was known about the game, until the following year during Paris Games Week, where a new trailer was presented.
In 2017 Ancel himself posted new images of the game, confirming that development was progressing and that new news would soon come. When the author decided to retire in 2020, he confirmed that this choice would not stop the work, which apparently did not turn out to be true.
It therefore appears that Wild, the PS4 exclusive either officially canceled, although no official confirmation has arrived from Sony or Wild Sheep Studio.
