An employee of the senator’s office wanted to edit an entry on the bill; advisory talks about correcting “injustice”
The collaborative encyclopedia wikipedia blocked an advisor to the senator and MDB pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Simone Tebetafter trying 3 times to change the congresswoman profile on the platform. The reason for the conflict with Wikipedia is an entry about Bill 494, of 2015, introduced by Tebeth.
The proposal advocated a change in the Law 6001/73 (Indian Statute): “In cases of conflicts of an indigenous nature, provide for the temporary suspension of acts or processes aimed at the study of identification of indigenous lands in the event of disturbance, encroachment or occupation of private properties that were not the object of study”.
According to Wikipedia, the project “it deals with the suspension of the demarcation of indigenous lands and the payment of compensation to farmers” and is one of the main ones of the senator. On June 12, 2018, however, Tebet asked to remove the text in the Senate.
“The proposal is the object of criticism by entities in defense of human rights, which point to alleged conflicts of interest, pointing out that the Senator owns a farm in Caarapó, Mato Grosso do Sul”highlights the excerpt from Wikipedia.
The last time the embebista’s advice tried to change the entry was in May 2022, when there was a blockade.
Another point that the employee wanted to exclude was one involving Tebet’s husband, the secretary of government of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Rocha.
According to the platform, he was one of the most active names of the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) opened in Alems (Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul), in September 2015, to investigate complaints that Cimi (Indian Missionary Council) ) would be financing and encouraging indigenous occupations in the state. At the time, Rocha was a state deputy.

In a note sent to Power 360, the congresswoman contests the platform. she says there is “misinformation”in “biased and negatively biased content” in Tebet’s profile. It also states that “will send formal protest to the platform” to change what you consider “injustice”.
Here is the full text of the note sent by Simone Tebet’s advice:
“Since 2021, Senator Simone Tebet’s advice has been trying to update the profile and correct erroneous information recorded on Wikipedia, some of which, based on press vehicles whose articles, indeed, present a biased and negatively biased content. Nothing but to restore the truth of the facts, easily verified in the official documents of the Federal Senate.
“The Senator will send a formal protest to the platform to correct this injustice that, especially at this time, can be used for electoral purposes and the dissemination of disinformation and Fake News.”
