Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- In order to clarify the reason for some high charges that have been registered in the urban and rural areas in the drinking water service, this Tuesday the general manager of the Japama, Raúl Pérez Miranda will meet with the body of aldermen.
It was during the Cabildo session held on Monday afternoon that councilor José Ángel Camacho Armenta requested an explanation about the excessive receipts that many families in the municipality of Ahome have received this February.
“We ask in the most attentive and humble way to the general manager of japama that you provide us with an explanation of the excessive charges that have been coming since this month of February, they are excessive charges, I want you to explain, tell me how and under what arguments these charges are made and what legal grounds are you using to apply them because the truth is that citizens require information,” he said.

For his part, councilor Carlos Roberto Valle Saracho questioned the decree that apparently has not been published regarding a discount program that even a couple of months ago was approved by the Cabildo itself.
“People come to the aldermen and see us as a point of reference, as a hope of getting a discount 2 months ago this Council approved discounts, they no longer believe us when we ask them for time, the discounts arise, there are people who For example, you owe 10,000 pesos and you bring 5,000 pesos, they go to the japama and they offer them an agreement, but people want to pay and end up with nothing”.
Meanwhile, Mayor Gerardo Vargas Landeros commented that in this meeting that Pérez Miranda will have with the councilors, all doubts can be cleared up, recognizing that there are many doubts, but above all; He referred to the fact that citizens are not used to paying or being charged for the drinking water service.
“People were not used to paying for water and that is over, people are going to have to pay for water, a few days ago there was a complaint that verbal commitments were made, money was taken from them and these payments were not applied to the receipts and the receipt has to keep coming out but Japama has made these commitments”.
Regarding the decree that will allow an attractive discount program to be offered and active, he pointed out that it could be published this Wednesday, which will undoubtedly help not only for the city to regularize users, but also for the board to have greater uptake.

“Based on all that, they can be given the discount that I already know the Cabildo authorized, which is depending on and with a socioeconomic study that dictates up to what percentage discount can be given. We have the power to be able to make some discounts and we are doing it but they are between 35 maximum 50 percent but this decree is going to give us more percentage to be able to make discounts, up to what the socioeconomic study determines “.
