If it seems to you that the world is more and more full of idiots, you will finally have proof
In the beginning it was The imbecile. On the fateful threshold of two thousand, the debut book by Pino Aprile he was lucky publishing case not only in Italybut in many other countries (in Spain, to say, it reached first place and dominated the charts for months).
Suggestive, scientifically basedsociologically flawless and at the same time overflowing with humor – in short: irresistible – the pamphlet was even adopted by university and management courses. Twenty years later, a New praiseto give testimony of a far-sighted intuition that over time has taken on more and more the trappings of stony, incontrovertible factual reality: the intelligent have made the world, but they are the stupid ones who live there.
Why are there so many idiots in the world? And why – never as in this moment, it would seem – they thrive and rulemanaging to achieve successful positionsfirst of all in politics, but also in companies, in society, in communication, in short, in life as a whole? Not to mention the social limelight …
Why, after having first laboriously and then brilliantly descended from the monkey, does the man now pompously ascend it? Pino Aprile agrees – a “Darwinian” and incontrovertible reason – ofunstoppable rise of human stupidity. By giving new life to an indispensable manifesto for understanding our asinine, cialtronesque contemporaneity.
