Why did Aeroméxico flight AM183 make an emergency landing in Sonora?

A plane Aeromexico was forced to perform a emergency landing in Hermosillo, Sonoraafter an urgent medical situation that affected one of the crew members during the flight AM183 from Tijuana, Baja California, to Mexico City (CDMX).

The control tower was alerted at approximately 8:00 p.m.which triggered rapid maneuvers to facilitate landing at the General Ignacio Pesqueira International Airport.

The news spread on social networks, where it was noted that the plane involved was a Boeing 737 Max, operated by Aeroméxico.

The airline officially confirmed the incident, stating that the aircraft initially took off from the Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport in Tijuana, Baja California, before encountering the medical emergency in flight.

The reason for the emergency landing was a health complication suffered by one of the crew, although so far the scheduled time to resume the trip to Mexico City has not been communicated.
