Work and white deaths, Rome, Naples and Milan are the cities where it is more dangerous to work. But the number of victims is also high in Turin, Brescia and Bari. The report on the first 8 months of 2021
The number of white dead and accidents at work, in the last week alone about a dozen men and women who died crushed by heavy loads, or got stuck in production machinery or, electrocuted, or crashed down from the heights where they were at work. A phenomenon that affects the North as well as the South of Italy, but which from province to province is more intense in some areas.
The Vega Engoneering Occupational Safety Observatory of Mestre has drawn up a ranking of the provinces that in the last 8 months of 2021 have experienced the highest number of worker deaths, and of the provinces where the risk of mortality is highest.
Mauro Rossato, president of the Observatory, presented the new mapping of deaths at work in the Italian provinces on the one hand with a numerical ranking and on the other through the mortality risk index with respect to the working population.
Deaths at work, the data
The total of the fatal injuries registered on the job occasion from January to August 2021 is of 620 victims.
AND’ Rome found the worst figure with 39 victims (8 more victims than last year). They follow: Naples (32, unchanged from 2020), Turin (24 – was 26), Brescia (20 – it was 30), Milan (20 – was 32), Bari (17 – it was 12), Caserta (16 – ten more victims than in 2020), Salerno (16 – they were 10 at the end of August 2020); Bologna (15 – it was 9), Lecce (13- they were 5); (Wedge 12 – there were 11), Perugia (11 – was 6), Verona (11 – was 12), Bergamo (10 – they were 37 at the end of August 2020).
