Where to buy the cheapest basic basket in Querétaro? Profeco reveals the lowest prices

In a recent report presented during the “morning” conference, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) revealed that Queretaro has the supermarket with the lowest prices in the basic basket in the entire city central region of Mexico.

The head of Profeco, David Aguilar Romero, during his participation in the section ““Who's who in basic necessities”, detailed the results obtained in the week of April 8 to 12.

This section, which is carried out weekly, identifies the commercial establishments with the highest and lowest prices of the basic basket throughout the country.

In the central region, which includes the Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Querétarosignificant differences in prices were recorded.

Querétaro, for its part, has the cheapest price, in the supermarket Bodega Aurrera located on Boulevard de las Américas, which offers the basic basket in $739 Mexican pesos.

However, this entity also has one of the more expensive supermarkets. This is Walmart Express, located on Camino Real de Carretas, in the Milenio III Fractionation, where these products are sold for a price of $887.90 pesos.

For this week, the highest cost in the central area is at Walmart, located in the municipality of Benito Juárez, in Mexico City, where the week of April 8 to 12, the products of the basic basket were offered at a cost of $938.90 pesos.

It is important to note that the prices are based on the purchase of a basic basket for a family of four, following the definition of the CONEVAL food basket.

These basic products include daily consumption foods such as tortillas, eggs, milk, toilet paper, among others.
