There are less than two months left to say goodbye to the year and many, before the arrival of Christmasthey long to be able to have another holiday to be able to disconnect from work. This is what will happen at the beginning of the last month of the year, a time when the event known as december bridge because December 6 and 8 are holidays.
However, in 2024 the second of these holidays will fall on a Sunday, so while many communities have decided to move the holiday to Monday, in other territories this will not be the case. Despite this, it is worth noting that December 6, which this year falls on a Friday, is a holiday throughout Spainthis day being the day on which Constitution Day is commemorated, one of the most important holidays in all of Spain.
On December 6, in addition, it means one of the national holidays approved by the Official State Gazette (BOE) which, like May 1 (Worker’s Day) or November 1 (All Saints’ Day), apply to all of Spain in a general way.
However, there are other types of holidays that may or may not be maintained by the different regions, changing the days by other dates that are much more optimal as each region considers. And this is the case for example of the day December 8 (Day of the Immaculate Conception).
Thus, as in 2024 this day falls on a Sunday, some communities have decided move the party to Monday, December 9. This is the case of Andalusia, Aragon, Castile and León, Estremadura, Murcia Region either Melilla. This means that they will have up to four days of holidays in a row.
The rest of the territories, however, they have not decided to make this change and, since they will have celebrated another holiday in an equivalent manner throughout the year, they will maintain the holiday only on Sunday the 8th, so there will only be three days of holidays in a row and Monday the 9th will be a school day.
