The Novatorskaya metro station is being built on the southern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL). According to information on the official website of the mayor of Moscow, it is planned to open it by the end of 2021. Novatorskaya will be located along Novatorov Street, at the intersection with Leninsky Prospekt.
Two underground lobbies will be built for the station. The exits from the western lobby will lead to both sides of Leninsky Prospekt and Novatorov Street, and from the eastern one – to the other side of Novatorov Street. They will be located close to residential and public buildings and land transport stops. In the future, Novatorskaya will organize a transfer to the Troitskaya line under construction, which will stretch from the BCL to Kommunarka and Troitsk.
The opening of the station should reduce the load on transfer points at the Park Kultury and Oktyabrskaya stations, as well as unload ground transport in the Prospekt Vernadsky and Obruchevsky regions.
What will the Novatorskaya station look like?
It will be a two-span, shallow station with one island platform and columns. The main feature of Novatorskaya’s design will be a “flaming” ceiling, which will consist of different types of panels made of orange triplex. The “fire” effect will be simulated by the lamps hidden between the panels. The walls of the station will be faced with aluminum panels, as well as gray and black stone, the latter will also finish the floor with columns. Benches at Novatorskaya will be made of stainless steel and wood.
