The October 1st is declared as the ‘International Coffee Day‘ with the aim of encouraging, promoting and publicizing the importance of this drink in all countries, especially in Mexico.
The International Coffee Organization (ICO) declared the ‘International Coffee Day’ to consume, promote and generate new strategies for promoting production, sale and consumption.
Mexico has 14 states specialized in the coffee production, due to the height at which they are above sea level, among which Chiapas, Veracruz and Puebla stand out as among the best in the country.
It definitely competes globally as the coffee that is consumed the most internationally is the “arabica” since it grows at altitudes of 1,200 to 1,700 above sea level.
The coffee production in the country it is only 3 percent worldwide, however, it is positioned in the top ten of its production.
It has a national area of up to 761 thousand hectares in states such as: Colima, Chiapas, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco and Veracruz.
