WhatsApp releases function that shows companies close to the user

Companies will be able to count on one more feature of WhatsApp. Users in São Paulo will be able to count on a feature that allows them to display companies, stores and commerce based on the location where the person is. The novelty is similar to something that already happens in Google Maps.

To appear in the resources, companies need to register on the list of options made available for free by the application. According to Uol, the establishment needs to be in the city of São Paulo and registered with WhatsApp Business.

It is important to note that the location number must start with +55 11. After downloading the WhatsApp Business app, simply follow the registration procedures – ranging from basic business information, such as CNPJ, geolocation, opening hours, name of company, service description, among others.

If the intention is to search by category of establishment, you must go to the main screen and look for the magnifying glass icon, in the upper right corner of the screen. Select the option ‘Businesses near you’ and the trade category you want. Finally, choose the desired location that will have information such as distance, street and phone number.

If the search is by company name, you will have to go to ‘Companies near you’ and enter the name of the store in ‘Find companies’. After searching the business name, you will see the location information like distance, street and phone.
