New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday and the holiday is moved to Monday

New Year’s Day is a holiday throughout Spain. However, this time it falls on a weekend, specifically on a Sunday. Therefore many people wonder what happens with the holiday. These dates are established each year by the autonomous communities, so that some holidays are of a national nature and the rest depend on regional or municipal decisions. In the case of the Region of Murcia, it has been decided that the holiday of Sunday, January 1, will go to Monday, January 2, to make the most of the celebration of the new year.
